Approval of the NEOTEC programme of the state business R&D+I sub-programme within the framework of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2017-2020

Yesterday, April 16, 2020, the BOE published the approval of the call for the year 2020 of the procedure for granting aid to new business projects of innovative companies of the State Subprogram for Business R+D+I.

The State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2017-2020, approved by agreement of the Council of Ministers on December 29, 2017, is the programming instrument that allows the development, financing and execution of public policies of the General State Administration in the area of promotion and coordination of R&D&I.

Among the aid modalities that make up the State Subprogramme for Business R+D+I is the NEOTEC programme, which aims to finance the creation of technology-based companies with a vocation for growth, contributing to entrepreneurship and accelerating the transfer of knowledge from public research bodies and universities.

Thus, small innovative companies set up within the 3-year period prior to 30 June 2020, the deadline for the submission of applications, with a minimum share capital of 20,000 euros fully paid up and correctly registered in the corresponding registry, and with the annual accounts of the last two years deposited in the Mercantile Registry prior to the submission of the application, may benefit from financing of up to 70% of the action’s budget, with a maximum subsidy amount of 250,000 euros per beneficiary, provided that the projects have a minimum fundable budget of 175,000 euros. The maximum budget for this call is TWENTY-FIVE MILLION EUROS (25,000,000 Euros).
